Beautiful World – Tearing Technique

I’m really enjoying playing with Beautiful World stamp set and the matching World Map Dies. For this card, I wanted to create a vintage, worn look so I used a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that was 3″ x 5 1/4″ and tore off a little bit of the edge, all the way around. Next I stamped the compass, using Crumb Cake ink, onto this piece randomly, sometimes stamping more than once before reinking the stamp. Next, I crumpled this paper into a ball and then flattened it back out and adhered it onto a piece of Cinnamon Cider card stock cut to 4″ X 5 1/4″. I added a layer of Black card stock to set off the Cinnamon Cider layer, this is cut to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Before adhering this to the Cinnamon Cider card base, I wrapped a piece of burlap ribbon around the layers and added one of the cute metal slides from the Antique Corners and Slides embellishments. I only cut the ribbon long enough to wrap over the front and left a little bit to adhere to the back of the paper.

The globe was die cut from black card stock and the feather and ink well were stamped with Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White paper. The Adventure Awaits greeting was stamped with Tuxedo Black.

I adhered the layered piece onto the card base with dimensionals.

I added some more torn elements and die cuts to the inside of the card, but have not added a greeting yet.
