Still Scenes Buffalo Check

Do you remember the wonder that you felt when watching the snow float around inside of a snow globe? Even today, when I see a snow globe, I still want to shake it and watch the snow. The Still Scenes stamp set and matching Snow Globe Dies are included on the Merry & Bright Online Extravaganza November 24. The 24 hour sale includes most items in the Annual Catalog. About the only items on this card that aren’t included in the sale are the whisper white cardstock and the Tuxedo Black ink.

The 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ cardbase is scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ to create a fold back front flap. The globe scene and base are stamped with black ink on whisper white and cut out with the Snow Globe Dies. The cabin scene and the base are colored with Stampin’ Blends. This sale would be an awesome opportunity to snap up a handful of the Stampin’ Blends! 10% off – be sure to remind Santa! The scroll work overlay on the base is one of the dies from the Snow Globe Die set cut from Copper Foil.

The Buffalo Check background stamp was a bit intimidating the first time that I used it. It’s very large, and I have small hands. I find that it’s easiest for me to ink the stamp with it laying face up on the table and then lay the paper onto the stamp. I’ve used Real Red ink on the Real Red Cardbase. To create the inner liner, I simply slid a piece of whisper white paper up to the fold and then traced the snow globe outline onto the paper and then cut inside the lines. I wanted a white area to stamp and write on, but still wanted the red background for the snow globe.

I’m entering this Clean and Layered, Fun Fold card in the Card Concept Challenge 144. I was inspired by the Buffalo Check on the pillow. I can almost feel the chill in the air looking at this photo.
