Birds & Branches Baby

For today’s card, I’ve been inspired by the Card Concept Challenge. I’ve taken the colors and the baby theme to create my card.

The first card in this series falls into the Clean and Simple style of cards, with limited layers and is very quick and easy to create. Both the Stepped Up and Wow versions of the card are done in a Clean and Layered Style. They have lots of layers but still have a clean look and feel with lots of white space.

Birds & Branches Baby Card Simple Version

I started with a very simple card that I did in a Mystery Card Challenge with my DOStamperSTARS demonstrator group. The basic layout is a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4″ base, with an 8 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ flap scored at 4 1/4″ and adhered to the bottom. The bird panel is 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2′ and the greeting panel is 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″. The greeting is from the So Sentimental stamp set.

Birds & Branches Baby Card Stepped Up

For the stepped up version, I’ve added a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ Pool Party panel behind the birds. With a 3″ x 4″ White panel for the birds. Both label layers are cut from dies in the Stitched So Sweetly Die set. The Stitched So Sweetly Dies come in a Bundle with the So Sentimental Stamp set, which the greeting is from. The nest in the first card is done with crumb cake ink, but both of the others are done with Cinnamon Cider ink. The birds are all done with Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee inks.

Birds & Branches WOW version

For the Wow version of this card, I die cut the bird, eggs and nest with the Birds & More Dies and layered them onto a panel of Bermuda Bay die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I’ve added another layer to the greeting, all 3 layers of the greeting are cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The greeting on all three cards is stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink. Be sure to watch my Birds & Branches Baby Card Video to see the Stepped Up Version of this card being created.
