Forever Fern Retiform Technique Card

For today’s Stamping with the STARS Challenge the theme is the Retiform Technique. This technique uses simple post it notes to mask off areas and create a fractured looking background, similar to a kaleidoscope. I’m really anxious to see all the other STARS entries!

This card uses the Forever Fern stamp set with Just Jade ink for the images and Soft Sea Foam for the blending. Most of the masked areas are aimed away from a center point. TIP: If you don’t want the Just Jade color to blend in with the Soft Sea Foam, wait until the image is dry before doing the blending. Can you tell which section I was too impatient with?

The Gold Foil label die cut is from the Painted Label Dies which coordinates with the Painted Poppy stamp set. I have included a link to the Bundle, although. the Painted Poppy stamp set isn’t used on this card. The scalloped circle which the greeting is stamped on is cut from the Layering Circles Dies and the edge is brushed with some Soft Sea Foam ink on a Blending Brush to tie it in with the background colors. The white circle is popped up with dimensionals. The color them is continued with a Just Jade matting layer and a Soft Sea Foam card base.
