OnStage Make ‘n Takes

First, if you aren’t familiar with what OnStage is, it is a Stampin’ Up! event for demonstrators that in the old days, lol, was called a convention. This year due to Covid it was a virtual event. The presentations were just as awesome as at an in person event, but I sure did miss the excitement of everyone gathering together. The air just hums with creativity when thousands of demonstrator gather in one place!

Luckily for me, on Saturday, the last day of the event, two of my downline were able to join me, YAHOO! As part of the event, I was able to order some of the product from the upcoming January to June Mini Catalog so that we could make some cards during the stamping portion of the event. I’ll have to say that all three of us were sweating by the time we got our cards done! It was pretty fast card making!!! We usually do a bunch of socializing and comparing when we make cards at The Roost. This was production speed stamping. There was a lot of laughing and a few ***** words flying as we tried to keep up to Shannon on the screen. I forgot to get some photos of Brenda and Sandy’s cards before they left, but as usual, our cards all took on our distinct personalities. Similar but different, just the way that handmade cards are meant to be.

We created three cards using the Blessings of Home Bundle. The collection will include 2 stamp sets and 2 dies, an embossing folder and the beautiful designer paper as well as ribbon and embellishments. The Heart and Home Designer Series Paper has floral designs on one side and gray and white board designs on the other.

The first card has a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ piece of the designer paper layered onto a garden green card base. The large floral image was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink onto the gorgeous Shimmer White cardstock. Sponge Daubers were used to add some Misty Moonlight and Garden Green ink to the flowers. A strip of the Denim ribbon was added under the greeting. Yay! No bow tying. A few of the Classic Matt Dots were added.

The next card base is a 5″ x 7″ one, scored at 3 1/2″ which will fit in the Note Card Envelopes. I think that the greeting was supposed to be stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink, to match the flowers, but my stamp found the Misty Moonlight ink pad that was in front of me, lol. We again used the Shimmer White paper for stamping. That was perfect for grabbing a Water Painter and spreading the ink around a bit on the flowers. The example card used the floral side of the designer paper behind the stamped flowers, but I liked the gray wood piece better, especially with my blue greeting. I actually liked Sandy’s and Brenda’s card better. Sandy left off the Fresh Freesia die cut flowers and Brenda stamped her flowers off to one side and put the die cuts on the other side.

This greeting seems just perfect to send to any of the many presenters at this event!

For this final card, I hadn’t gotten the large Cinnamon Cider die cuts done ahead of time, so I totally missed the directions as I was furiously cranking the die machine handle cutting out our flower boughs, lol. We all felt that this card needed a little tweaking. I think maybe die cut the designer paper with one of the Scalloped Contours Dies and put another layer behind the designer paper. Brenda thought to swap out the Fresh Freesia card base for Pale Papaya or Evening Evergreen. What do you think?

One thing that I really liked about this card was stamping the greeting directly onto a piece of the Heart and Home Designer Series Paper! The soft gray board is perfect for greetings.
