Tropical Layers Birthday Wishes

The Artfully Layered stamp set seemed a perfect fit for my location here in the Mobile Roost! For those of you who live in climates that don’t get down to -35 at times, just let me tell you green grass in January is pretty exciting! Our camper is parked in beautiful Saddlebag Lake Resort near Lake Wales, Florida and we get the weather report from friends and family back in Minnesota and really appreciate the weather here.

This card was created for a Mystery Card Challenge during a Holiday Party with my demo group. Does that sound fun to you? Because we are spread across the country, and of course worrying about covid, the party was held on Zoom, but what fun to catch up with everyone. If you think you would enjoy joining our group, now is a great time to check out the Starter Kit! During Sale-a-bration (Jan-Feb) you get to choose an extra TWO stamp sets for Free. That can mean an extra $66 if you choose the most expensive stamp sets in the catalogs! I’d love to have you join my Hollywood Stamping Chicks Team!

Here is the list of supplies that we received for the Mystery Challenge:

PAPER:
___Card Base: 1/2 sheet of cardstock
___DSP: 1″ x 3-1/2″ and 1-1/2″ x 4″ (different patterns) – corrected
___Cardstock to coordinate with DSP pieces: 1-3/4″ x 4-1/4″, other 1-1/4″ x 3-3/4″
___Coordinating cardstock – 4 ” x 5-1/4″
___Basic White at 3-3/4″ x 5″
___Scraps of cardstock to die cut or punch images.
STAMP: Stamp set of your choice for image and sentiment, coordinating die set or punch.
INK: Color to match DSP
OTHER: adhesives, scissors, bone folder, etc
Optional: Ribbon/trim, embellishments jewels/dots

The greeting that I chose was too long to fit under the banners with the card in portrait orientation so I flipped it to horizontal. I adhered my banner pieces together BEFORE learning that they needed to be flagged on the ends. Note to self, don’t work ahead, wait for instructions. I was able to peel back the edges and nip the tails with a paper snips.

I love the leaf dies that are included in the Artfully Layered Bundle. The Tropical Layers Dies have some dies that cut out the stamped images, some that are just die cuts, a cool border element and a couple of accent pieces that I haven’t played with yet. As their name implies, they are great for layering.
