Catching Butterflies

Today the STARS are sharing cards created with the fun SALE-a-bration products. If you aren’t familiar with the SALE-a-bration event, here’s the skinny. For each $50 or $100 purchase of Stampin’ Up! products you get to choose a free item from the exclusive SALE-a-bration lineup. There are 6 stamp sets and 4 paper packs to choose from, plus a special extra gift for Hostesses.

This card was created for my sweet little granddaughter Lilly. While we are enjoying the warmth and sunshine in Florida, I sure do miss her sweet smile, sunny disposition and warm laugh. If only I could transport back to Minnesota once a week for a few hours to visit with the grandkids! (Can you tell I’m a Harry Potter Fan?)

The images are stamped onto a 3 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. They are then colored with Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers. I’ve used Polished Pink, Cinnamon Cider, Petal Pink, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Pool Party colors. Have you been wishing for more skin tone colors in the Stampin’ Blend Marker family? Well, guess what? I’m so excited to announce that starting on February 1 Stampin’ Up! has added 5 new marker combos in a range of light to dark skin tones. SUPER YAY!!!

This card has a top fold so the base is 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″. I’ve covered the entire front with a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of fun Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper, which by the way is one of the SALE-a-bration papers. It comes in the 6″ x 6″ size so I had a strip left over and decided to add it to the inside of the card.

The kaleidoscope of bright colored butterflies makes me happy, just like thinking about Lilly’s big smile.
