Wild Cats Gate Fold

Today’s card is another entry in the STARS February Chinese New Year Challenge. Did you know that if you join my Hollywood Stamping Chicks team, you also become part of the DOstamperSTARS group? It’s a community of about 100 demonstrators who inspire each other. There are fun online events as well as monthly challenges. If you are interested in joining, be sure to check out the Starter Kit Special that is going on during SALE-a-bration. In addition to all of the regular goodies in the Starter Kit, you can choose two stamp sets for free. SALE-a-bration ends February 28 so don’t delay!

This year is the Chinese Year of the Tiger and one of the challenge entries is to make a card with a Tiger or other animal. The tiger from the Wild Cats stamp set didn’t fit as well on the card so I ended up making it a leopard card instead of a tiger, but it still fits the challenge requirements.

The card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″, 4 1/4″ and 6 3/8″. The scalloped rectangle is die cut with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies in a leopard print pattern from the In the Wild Designer Series Paper. The green die cut is also from the In the Wild paper pack and another die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The Wild Cats stamp set has a matching die set, so NO FUSSY CUTTING, YAY!

The cat is popped up with dimensionals. The leopard print on the card base is stamped with cajun craze ink for a tone on tone look and to echo the leopard spots that are on the other card layers.

More leopard spots are carried through onto the inside with a another piece of the In the Wild DSP. If you like leopards be sure to check out the whole In the Wild Suite. There is even a leopard patterned embossing folder.
