Calming Camellia

One of the requirements for the Chinese New Year Challenge that I am participating in calls for a Bamboo or Floral card. I don’t have any bamboo stamp sets, but my current favorite floral stamp set it the Calming Camellia. The Calming Camellia stamp set is a hostess reward special, available during SALE-a-bration which ends February 28. To earn the Calming Camellia set the order needs to reach $300 in sales.

Instead of using the large camellia stamp, the card that I chose to showcase today uses several of the other stamps from the set to create a background done in Gray Granite and Gorgeous Grape ink colors.

There isn’t any rhyme or reason to the way that I stamped the images. I started with the larger image randomly stamped 4 or 5 times, re-inking each time. Then switched colors and repeated. I then did the same with with swirly stamp. To finish off the card, I adhered the 4″ x 5 1/4″ designed layer onto a Highland Heather card base. The Gorgeous Grape label is die cut from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and the Greeting Label is cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies. The floral spray behind the Happy Birthday greeting was stamped with Fresh Freesia ink and then the greeting was stamped over them in Gorgeous Grape. A 1/2″ x 4″ strip of the Simply Marbleous SALE-a-bration paper was sandwiched between the labels.
