Card Candy

If you saw my post from yesterday, you saw nine squares that I used to create a wall decor item called a sampler. Those sampler squares are also called Card Candy. They can be used as the focal point to create a quick card. I like having a stack of Card Candy squares ready to put together a quick card when needed. Here are a couple examples of cards that I created with some Card Candy squares left over from my Sampler.

For this card, I simply stamped the complete image of the girl on the swing on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Then placed my Card Candy over it. It’s placed on an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base. It was very quick and easy to throw this card together using the Card Candy.

For my second card, I wanted it to have a dreamy, up in the clouds look, so I die cut the Card Candy using one of the Layering Circles Dies. The pretty blue, white and pink paper is also from the Flowering Fields DSP and to give it more texture, it is embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. The Flowering Fields DSP layer is 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ with a 3 3/4″ x 5″ layer of Petal Pink under it. The Card Candy is popped up with dimensionals and lays over a strip of Pale Papaya Ribbon.
