Succulent Dies

After a conversation with my fellow Hollywood Stamping Chicks team member Sandy, I had to pull out my Potted Succulent Dies and play with the largest die in the set. The largest die in the set is what drew me to purchase the set in the first place, but I have to say that the label dies are the ones that I have used the most.

For my first card, I decided to try die cutting a piece of Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Acetate. It didn’t cut well but I liked the look and decided to leave the pieces in and glue down the whole piece without removing the cut outs. It did warp badly and I don’t think I would use it this way again. I think a smaller strip might work better for die cutting with the Mercury Glass paper, but it was too pretty to toss so I did complete a card with it.

The greeting is from the Celebrating You stamp set and the label dies from the Succulent Dies work perfectly with the greetings in the Celebrationg You stamp set. I’ve wrapped a piece of the Metallic Woven Mesh Ribbon around a piece of Velveteen Paper. The Velveteen Paper is no longer available but a piece of the Highland Heather cardstock would work as well.

To complete the inside, another greeting from the Celebrate You set was used and another piece of the Velveteen paper was added.

The Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass paper is on the Last Chance Sale for only $6.90 and was still available as I was writing this. These items are only available while supplies last so don’t delay if you want to get some. I’m happy to say that both the Metallic Ribbon, Celebrating You, and the Potted Succulent Dies are all carrying over into the new Annual Catalog.
