Today’s card features a large background stamp called Brilliant Wings. The stamp is 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and has 6 butterflies on it. I like to use my Stamparatus for stamping large stamps like this one. If I don’t use my Stamparatus I lay the stamp on the table face up and place the paper onto the stamp to transfer the ink. I have a hard time holding the large stamps.

There is also a matching die called Brilliant Wings which will die cut each of the butterflies. It’s a large die set with a single large die which cuts out all of the images from the background stamp. There are also separate dies for each butterfly which cut out detailed outlines as well as an additional 2 little butterflies. The die set also has 3 background type dies. One is bricks, another is cross hatch lines and the third is bubbles.

The large butterfly on top of the Lovely Layers Vellum has been colored with Daffodil Delight and Basic Black Stampin’ Blend Markers and covered with Wink of Stella Glitter. It is adhered with dimensionals to make the colored butterfly float above the others.

The two layered Thanks greeting is a die cut from the Amazing Thanks Die set. To finish off the card 3 black dots and 2 white dots were added.

Paper Dimensions:

• Basic Black Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Scored at 4 1/4″
• Basic White 2 pieces 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
• Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″ for inside
• Basic Black Scrap for die cut

Stamp the Butterfly Background stamp on the large piece of Basic White using a Stamparatus. Then cut it down to 4″ x 5 1/4″. Use the second piece to stamp another large Butterfly Background. Color the second set of butterflies with Stampin’ Blend Markers and die cut. Place the extras in an envelop and slip in the folder with the die set for future use.

To avoid seeing the places where the vellum is adhered, place the liquid glue only under the butterfly and thanks die cuts. Place the large stamped background layer onto the base at an angle. Layer the vellum over it at the same angle centering it. Trim off the overhanging edges with a paper snips.
