Creativity Now Cards 3 and 4

It’s a gorgeous morning! I got up early and sprayed my apple trees before it gets windy. I even gave ‘Cousin It’, our weeping pussy willow a hair cut. He didn’t fair so well this past winter and had lots of dead branches.

Here are the last two cards from the Creativity Now Event. There was also a bag but I have yet to master the score lines and get it correct, lol. I promise I will try again and post it once I have it right.

I love the tone on tone stamping on the background for this card. I also like the distressed edges on the white layer. If you don’t have a distressing tool, run the paper against an open scissor to rough up the edges.

The Splendid Day Designer Series Paper is just gorgeous. This card really shows off the colored foils and the white designs on the foils. This card was meant to use the really cool half moon die from the Splendid Day Suite Die set (which I don’t have). Instead, I used one of the Layering Circles Dies and cut half circles, but they don’t have the same impact without the fun stitching. The greeting is from the Forever Fern stamp set and the label it’s on was cut using one of the Deckled Rectangle Dies.

I really like how both of these cards use just a bit of the foiled papers and the way that they show off multiple designs of the papers.

The final card was supposed to use the negative space from the half moon die cut, but of course without the die it was situation that stretched my creativity abilities. I finally ended up just using blank rectangles instead. I really liked the way that the embossed greeting from the Pick of the Crop Paper Pumpkin turned out. There is some white embossing on the Soft Sea Foam background layer as well. It would have shown up more if I had the half moon die. The white embossing looked so pretty on the light green paper.

The Splendid Day Speciality Designer Paper will be available starting July 1 in the July to December Mini Catalog as well as the entire Splendid Day Suite. Of course, the Forever Fern stamp set and matching Forever Flourishing Dies are available right now and you can purchase them by clicking on the links below.
