When I first saw the This Birthday Piggy stamp set I thought it was really cute but I already had the retired This Little Piggy stamp set so told myself, no, firmly, you are not buying it! Then I saw the Playful Piggy Dies in the Perfect Partners Event and caved. I had to have the cute little wagon. When my daughter was born my grandmother bought us one of those cute little red wooden wagons. If that old thing had on odometer I wonder how many miles would be on it! It hauled kids on long walks when mom needed some exercise and fresh air. It was pulled by dogs (not always willingly). It hauled pumpkins (we even bent an axel one time and had to pull it into the shop for repairs). It still resides in our garage and gets used for gardening chores and the occasional walk with grandkids.
I knew right away when I started thinking of ideas for party favors for the Hollywood Stamping Chicks first ever Hobby Day that I wanted to make a 3D wagon using the Playful Piggy Dies. It took me a little experimenting to get the base the right size to fit the wagon and an ink spot and candy, but I finally ended up with a 3″ x 2 1/4″ base. All 4 sides are scored at 1/2″. I didn’t even look at the greetings until I had the wagon made and pig colored and then found this greeting. What a perfect greeting for a table favor for an all day crafting event!
Here is my passel of pigs ready to welcome the ladies to Hobby Day. Each wagon held an ink spot and a carmel. Watch my Piggy Wagon video tutorial to see how to make them.
The wheels and handle are die cut from Basic Black paper. The wagon is all done in Real Red and each wagon side has a handle on it that needs to be cut off when making it 3D.
