Today’s swap card are all a bit Gnomish! They all feature items from the Storybook Gnomes Suite. I’m not sure why but I find Gnomes in general a bit creepy, sort of like clowns, I guess. I do have to admit that these Gnomes are kind of cute. I did purchase the paper but couldn’t bring myself to buy the stamp set, lol.

This Bi-Fold Gnome card by Susan Miller is put together a bit differently than expected. It starts with a card base that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ scored at 2 1/8″ and 6 3/8″ for a standard Bi-Fold card. The two flaps are 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and are adhered to the card front so that the bottom one closes behind the Bi-Fold and the topple closes on top of the Bi-Fold.

Each Gnome has an Opal Round Gem at the tip of his hat and the beard has Wink of Stella added for sparkle.

This fun step card is going to be included at my next Creative Cards Class (but probably without the Gnome). Susan Campfield always does such precise work! The base is 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 1″x 2″ and 6 1/2″. The fold over part is 2 1/2″ x 81/2″ scored at 3″. I promise I will be sharing this fun fold on a different card next month.

Teresa’s car is another fun fold that is going to be CASE’d for my December card class! This is a spin on the Book Fold Technique, which turns the card to a portrait orientation and adds an easel. Wow, how cute is that? The base is 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 2″, 4 1/4″, and 5 1/5″. The Gnome is layered onto a 3″ square. Watch for a video tutorial on this one next month as well.

The coloring on Eileen’s card is exceptional! I’m guessing that she used Blending Brushes for the background. I love how she used a brown to create depth between the green grass and blue sky.

Cathy’s card is a beautiful example of ways to use mattes to make a focal image really stand out.

I love the attention to detail! Even the strip of Designer Paper on the inside of the card is matted!

Amanda has used the Wintery 3D embossing folder, which I don’t have, and it’s on the SEASONAL SALE! Add that to the list! We have until midnight tonight to keep adding items, hehehe. That’s an embossing folder that I totally overlooked! The other neat thing on Amanda’s card is the way that she added color to the gnomes beard. It looks like she added the ink to the die when cutting out the beard.
