Breaking News

Do you ever get a chuckle every night when David Muir starts the World News with his Breaking News line? I know that I do, especially when the news is a repeat of the night before, lol. But, today’s card uses the fun Breaking News stamp set which gives a nod to the old fashioned method of getting news, the newspaper.

I’ve got three versions of the same card to share with you today. Each uses a different background paper and different stamps from the set. The newspaper is fussy cut to stand out on the background. A Stamparatus was used to ensure nice dark inking but these cards could be created without one. The inside is left blank, leaving options for which occasions the cards are used for.

This a birthday themed card has a very vanilla base and newspaper. The fireworks background is from the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper which is Hostess Reward item in the July to December Mini Catalog. The cake image was also stamped on the corner of the envelop.

Next is an anniversary themed card done in basic white with a background paper from the Perfectly Penciled paper pack from the Annual Catalog. Again, the image is stamped on the corner of the envelope for a little sneak peak at the contents.

The final card is a graduation card with a background from the Design A Daydream Hostess Reward paper pack found in the Annual Catalog.

This design is easy to recreate and can be made in minutes. Stop by The Roost tomorrow to see some simple ways to add a twist to these cards. The Stamparatus tool makes it easy to get nice dark ink lines on the images but this card can be created without one.
