Today’s card features a twist on a Book Fold, with an extra score line and a bit of extra cutting.

The card starts with an 11″ x 4 1/4″ base which is then scored at 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″ and 8 7/8″. The decorative designer paper strips are 1″ x 4″ (2) and 1 3/4″ x4″. They can be adhered right away, then add the ribbon before adhering down the book binding edge. I like to use Tear and Tape or Liquid Glue for that as it sees lots of bending.

For the square piece and to form the pointed edge, first cut a 3″ square of cardstock and line up the two corner points with the score line on the front of the card. Line up the bottom corner point with the bottom of the card front. Add glue only to the bottom half of the square. Then trim off the excess corners of the card front so that they match the square.

This card was a birthday card for my grandson. The bear was so simple to stamp, and no coloring needed! The bear is stamped onto a 2 3/4″ square of basic white and a 3″ x 4″ liner inside is stamped with the greeting all in Early Espresso ink.
