Beautifully Happy

What a peaceful name for a stamp set, Beautifully Happy. The Beautifully Happy stamp set is one of two items at the $100 level that can be earned for free from Stampin’ Up! during the January to February Sale-a-bration Event which starts January 5th. It is a Two-Step set, which means that some of the stamps are images which have another stamp that fills them in. It contains 17 photopolymer stamps, six of which are greetings.

Maybe because I’ve been feeling under the weather lately, this greeting seemed appropriate. The card started with a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Shimmer paper and the large outline image was stamped in Sahara Sand to create a no-line background. Next, the leaves were stamped in Parakeet Party. The lowers are done in Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. If you look closely, I missed the alignment when doing the second stamp, maybe because I wasn’t up to snuff? (I’ll take any excuse I can get!) To fix the issue, I took a Water Painter and picked up a bit of the matching ink and painted in the white edges.

While I was ‘fixing’ my mistakes I also applied some of the Parakeet Party ink to the stems with the brush. The greeting is stamped in Highland Heather ink and the speckles were added with an included stamp from the set in Balmy Blue, one of my go-to colors for backgrounds. At this point in the card making process, I thought that the card needed something more and looked back at the set and spotted the little bee. I actually used the fill in center from the small single flower to add the Daffodil Delight ink to the bees, leaving the wings white. Three of the Fresh Freesia Fun Flowers Resin Shapes finished the focal point. Next, a 5 1/4″ x 4″ matte of Highland Heather was added and it was placed onto a Parakeet Party base that is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.

The inside of the card has a greeting inked in Fresh Freesia with the small single flower done in the same colors as the flowers on the front. The single flower is also stamped on the envelope in Black ink and left uncolored.
