Tearing up the Road!

This card is for all my biking friends. The Legendary Ride Die set is awesome! Use it by itself or combine with the Legendary Ride stamp set.

One of the February STARS challenge cards was to make a window by tearing the paper and I just got this fun Legendary Ride Bundle and my first thought was a motorcycle tearing up the road. I started with a 5 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ piece of the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper and tore a roadway (narrow strip) along the bottom. The back side of this design was a green pattern and it didn’t really look like the underside of a road, lol, so I used a Blending Brush and added Soft Suede ink until it looked like dirt. Then I rolled the strip up around the tip of my Take Your Pick Tool and adhered the roll down. Along the torn window (or road) the torn edges looked too white so I used another Blending Brush and added Calypso Coral to them. Using the colors that are featured in the Delicate Desert DSP, the card base is Pale Papaya and a 4″ x 5 1/4″ matte layer of Cajun Craze.

Isn’t this motorcycle sharp! It consists of 7 different die cuts plus a fussy cut piece for the handle grip. TIP: when die cutting foil have a clean die cutting plate to place on the top of the foil. If you can, save one plate just for on top of foils. The wheel hubs are Black Matte Dots. The DSP layer with the bike is popped up with dimensionals.

The inside of the card has the same layers as the front, a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Cajun Craze and 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The greeting actually has another line but I covered it with tape when I inked the stamp and then removed the tape for stamping so that I only had the first 3 lines.
