Today’s card started out with inspiration from a color challenge.

When I saw these three colors together, my first thought was a sunset over water. I have several watery possibilities for stamp sets but my first thought was the On the Ocean set.

Blending Brushes were first used to add color to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. I love the way that the brush left swirls of the Mango Melody ink in the sky! The Night of Navy water looked a little blah, so I stamped the swirly image over and over with more Night of Navy ink until I liked the way it looked.

The ship is stamped with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla paper and then die cut with the On the Ocean Dies. To make the ship ”sink’ into the water, an exacto knife was used to cut a slit along the top of the waves and the ship was tucked into the slit. Dimensionals adhere the top of the ship to the paper to make the ship stand out.
