Fairy Tales

Today’s card started out quite differently in my mind but ended up being a quirky take on the frog kissing fairy tale.

First, I wanted to play with crossing a pair of die cuts from the Elegant Borders Dies. I’m really liking the new Lemon Lolly color so decided to use it and Basic Black. The die used here only cuts off one edge (Border Die) so a scissor was used to trim off the other edge to create the narrow strips. A blossom from the Apple Harvest stamp set was used to create a flowery background of Lemon Lolly ink on the Lemon Lolly paper.

The image outlines are all stamped with Tuxedo Black ink. The frog is done with Parakeet Party, Poppy Parade is used for the tongue and the log is Wild Wheat (new color) ink. A narrow matte of Basic Black (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″) is layered under the Lemon Lolly layer (4″ x 5 1/4″) and the card base is Lemon Lolly (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″)

The greeting is from the Growth Takes Time Online Exclusive stamp set. Be sure to take a closer look at this set! It’s easy to overlook but has so many possibilities!

Have a wonderful day and remember to be kind to all those frogs out there.
