Simple Stamping with Sea Turtles

A few days ago I shared a card using the Hey Chuck stamp set and a technique of stamping directly onto patterned papers. Today’s card is a super simple version of the same technique. I had so much fun stamping on the designer paper that I just had to give it a try with the fun Sea Turtles stamp set.

This card uses Pretty Peacock and Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of retired Fancy Flora DSP.

This card uses Old Olive and Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of retired Tea Room DSP.

A scrap of the stamped DSP was used on the inside.

Here’s one done with Gorgeous Grape ink on a Fancy Flora DSP.

Again, a piece of the scrap from the DSP is added to the inside. This is a great technique for using a patterned paper that maybe wasn’t one of your favorites. Look for a pattern that is more on the subtle side, one without bold patterns. Choose an ink color that coordinates with the colors in the paper.

Have some fun with this easy card making technique. Watch my Stamping on Pattern Paper Video.

  1. This is such a great technique! I agree, it would be a good way to use some patterns of DSP that aren’t my favorite, especially with a larger stamp like the sea turtle. Thanks for the idea!
