Merry & Bright

Sometimes this time of year I feel like I’m in a tailspin! Do you feel the need to do deep house cleaning in the fall? You know the kind, moving furniture, washing windows, blah, blah, blah…I think it’s my mom’s voice that I hear in my head telling me to start cleaning. I love being outside and my gardens need some love right now. Then there’s all the fun Halloween stamp sets and fall themed papers to craft with. Next, I think about having to start making Christmas cards. Then, there’s that good book I’ve been reading. I want to go visit my Uncle up in northern Minnesota, and the list goes on, and on and on, spiraling around in my head until all I want to do is take a nap.

So today I have a fun Christmas card to share that I created for a swap with the DOstamperSTARS group. I hadn’t planned on purchasing the Merry Bold & Bright Suite until I saw Sara Douglas do a demonstration using it at the Creative Connections Event.

If you follow my blog this fun fold will look familiar to you. I did a video tutorial using the Supremely Awesome stamp set and this card is the same layout with just a few tweaks.

So for this card, I used mostly the items from the Merry Bold & Bright Suite; the Merry & Bright stamp set, Merry & Bright Dies, Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs, Melon Mambo Foil Sheets, BUT I took a little detour with the designer series paper. This DSP is the A Walk in the Forest designer series paper which is the Making a Difference item in this year’s Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. For each pack sold, Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Marines Toys for Tots campaign. The paper is AWESOME and the charity is AWESOME and I first thought that I would set a goal of selling 100 packs, but realized that for me that is way beyond my customer base, so…I’ve toned it down to 20 packs. So please take a look at this paper and order a pack, if not from me then from another demonstrator.
