Swinging Vintage Leaf

It’s been a tough week for me. I’m writing this post from a hospital bed. On Sunday, I did a really stupid thing, and put my hand in a dog fight. My dogs, so no rabies worries but even though I went in and got antibiotics the wound got infected and needed IV antibiotics. My friend Sandy came and cut the paper for card class and I was able to hold my morning class yesterday but after being told by my retired nurse friends that I needed to go back in, I did and they haven’t let me go. It does seem to be getting better but not over the hump yet.

So I’m going to share with you one of the cards that we made at the morning class and will eventually make at the rescheduled evening class.

This card is made with the super simple Swing and Sway Technique. I’ve fallen in love with this technique! If I was home I would probably be making more of them, I’m addicted. This card uses a couple of retired sets. I would have loved to create it with the Autumn Leaves Bundle but every now and then I have to put my foot down and not purchase every stamp set I want, lol. I’ll probably be glad when I get the hospital bills. The leaf on this card is from the retired Vintage Leaves stamp set and matching dies. The greeting comes from an even older stamp set called Tags 4 You which had a matching tag punch.

The Basic White layer has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The card is done in a simple two tone color palette, Cajun Craze and Basic White. To see how this simple technique works, watch my Sway and Swing Video Tutorial.

Remember the Free Shipping on orders over $75 ends today, October 11.
