Shinning Light

Today’s card again uses the Night Divine Bundle but today uses an ink blending technique to create a shaft of light which shines on the nativity scene.

The card starts with a standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White Thick card base scored at 4 1/4″. The next layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ of Basic White. This layer is colored with Blending Brushes and Lemon Lolly and Starry Sky ink. When using Blending Brushes to add ink, pick up the ink by tapping the Blending Brush onto the ink pad. With the paper to be colored laying on a grid paper or other scrap, start laying down the ink about 1/2″ off of the paper on the grid paper to unload any over abundance of ink and then either do straight strokes to add the ink to the background or make circular motions. Both methods work but each gives a bit different look. I started with the Lemon Lolly (lighter color) and then added the Starry Sky (darker color) on each side. I did aim the Lemon Lolly to the place where the baby would be placed.

A bit of blending on the inside over the greeting coordinates the inside with the outside. The rest of the card is decorated with the awesome die cuts from the Night Divine Die set.
