Today I’ve decided to play with the Country Birdhouse Bundle that I snapped up during the June Bundle Sale. Luckily, if you missed out on the June Bundle Sale, you can take advantage of the July Bonus Days, which starts July 3. The inspiration for the card today came from the Card Concept challenge #208. Because I wanted to use the Country Birdhouse stamp set I chose to use the colors and stripes, rather than the starfish as inspiration.

The Card Concept Challenge lists styles and asks participants to choose which style they are using. I would have to say that my card falls into the Clean and Layered style which they define as:

• clean lines
• lots of layers
• designer papers/embossing
• embellishments/accents
• clean and fresh looking
• some coloured images at times
• white space

The birdhouse is stamped on Basic White cardstock and is colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers in Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue, and Gray Granite. It is adhered to the card with dimensionals. The bird is also stamped on Basic White with Tuxedo Black ink and is colored with Azure Afternoon and Lemon Lolly Markers. It is popped up with dimensionals also. Some Night of Navy flowers and leaves are die cut from the Country Birdhouse Die set and added to the birdhouse. White Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack is wrapped several times around the birdhouse and tied in a big bow.

A 2″ x 5 1/4″ strip of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper was add added in the center of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic Gray which has been embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. This is layered onto a Smoky Slate card base which is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy ink onto a 1″ x 4″ piece of Basic White. Three Sparkle Gems complete the front.

The inside has a birthday greeting and some pretty flowers from the Country Birdhouse stamp set.
