Delightful Wishes Birthday Card

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a good weekend. The weather here in Minnesota wasn’t perfect, but we did manage to get in a few hours at the McLeod County Fair without getting wet. We sat on a bench and people watched and visited with friends for most of the time. What can I say, we were in the shade, there was a nice breeze and we were eating fair food. I think it’s one of those, you know you’re getting old when…you enjoy going to the fair to sit in the shade visiting with friends.

Today’s card is a CASE (Cope And Share Everything) from page 134 of the Annual Catalog. I’ve chosen to use Strawberry Slush and Bubble Bath colors for my card, combined with the Delightful Wishes stamp set and dies. All week I will be working on a Challenge for the STARS demonstrator team. I usually scatter them throughout the month but, yikes, it’s already past the middle of the month and I’m just starting.

I’m not sure that I got the dimensions the same as the catalog samples but here is what I came up with:

  • Strawberry Slush Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • 2025-2027 In Color DSP Strawberry Slush 2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Bubble Bath 1″ x 3 1/4″
  • Strawberry Slush 3″ x 4″
  • Basic White 2″ x 3″

The stamped flowers are done with a mix of Strawberry Slush and Bubble Bath inks. The stem and shadows are done with the Strawberry and the fill in is the Bubble Bath. All of the die cut elements are done in Bubble Bath ink and a mixture of Basic White and Bubble Bath cardstock.

The greeting is done in Strawberry Slush. Only the Happy Birthday part of the greeting was inked. It was easy to ink it on the edge of the pad and avoid getting the rest of the words. The skinny label die is part of the Delightful Wishes Die set. The Strawberry Gems can be found in the 2025- 2027 In Color Flat Pearls collection.

I experimented with the inside. The Basic White layer is 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and the DSP trim is 1″ x 5 1/2″. I usually cut the DSP strip to match the white layer. I haven’t decided if I like it or not yet. What do you think?

Don’t forget to check out the August In Color Sale! I’ve highlighted the prices on the items used on this card.
