Swap Card Friday

Hello! Last evening I had a booth at the Ladies Night Out in Watertown. It was a nice evening and I want to give a shout out to Sandy Reid for joining me and giving me some moral support. Every year I’m at my table and wishing that I could be walking around shopping and enjoying the evening with friends. I did get to do that at the Craft Sale in Hutchinson this year with Sandy and her friend Connie, so I guess I should stop whining, lol.

Today I have three cards using Embossing Folders.

The first card by Linda Cherwitz uses the Sunrise Sailing Bundle which includes a stamp set, dies, and embossing folder. I love the colors that Linda chose to make here sunrise with the sailboat in shadow. The colored cardstock is layered onto a piece of basic white, embossed and then layered onto a Basic Black card base. The sailboat and greeting are popped up with dimensionals. I love how the rhinestones make me think of sun sparkles!

Look what a different feeling is created by changing the colors! This card uses a Secret Sea base and sailboat with a Night of Navy embossed layer. The White ink brushed onto the sail gives the boat an otherworldly feeling. The greeting, done in Secret Sea ink is from The Right Words stamp set (MY GO TO GREETING SET!). The white gems make me think of night time and stars. The artist who created this card forgot to sign their name so I’m not sure who to give credit to.

This card by Carol Johnson uses another embossing folder that comes as a bundle with stamps and dies, the Beautiful Butterflies. (Which sadly is on the Last Chance List. The embossing folder/die combo is on sale but not the stamp set so purchase separately for the best deal)

Carol has used the Two Tone cardstock for the embossed layer and has lightly sanded the surface to make white edges on the high ridges. I believe it is the Petunia Pop. The Heartfelt Hexagon punch out beneath the greeting is done in Berry Burst, also the Two Tone, with the greeting from the Peaceful Pier stamp set done in the sale color.

Carol has mixed gems and used both a pearl and rhinestones.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy the fall weather this weekend! I’m looking forward to buttoning up my gardens for winter and going to a friend’s for a hay ride.

Thanks for stopping by The Roost, remember that Starter Kit Special goes through the end of October. I really, really think that everyone should buy one! That’s how good this deal is. Where else can you spend $35 and get an additional $90 in FREE stuff PLUS free SHIPPING?
