Virtual Card Making Retreat Part 3

Continuing on with more of the cards from the Virtual Card Making Retreat, today I have three more fun cards.

This card used a mask (heart punch out included in the kit) and we used it to color the hearts with Blending Brushes before stamping the large floral image.

The greeting label and frame started out as white paper and were colored with ink and a Blending Brush. It did take a bit of time for them to dry. The greeting is heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I loved the additional masking inside the card and on the edge of the envelope as well. Really sweet extra special touches!

This card featured angled weaving. I’ve done woven cards before but never angled or with twine added. To start place one of the strips at an angle and add glue only to the center. Continue adding strips using the first one to get the angles right. Once the strips are all on, start weaving and then glue down all of the ends. The twine is added at the end. The greeting is done with Silver Embossing Powder.

The green designer paper strips are stamped with the little words image while the blue strips are stamped with the narrow border image and heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.

Both the inside of the card and the bottom of the envelope have strips as well.

The panel with the flowers was in the kit. Almost all of the cards have a full sheet of designer paper adhered to the card front. I’m not fond of lining up the designer paper on the card front but it does give the cards a different look.

Notice the leaf coloring here, we swiped one edge of the leaves with a Stampin’ Blend Marker to give the leaves more depth. I really like the extra stamping on colored strips! It’s not something that I would have thought of but it really adds visual interest. These subtle little extras really show the love put into handmade cards.
