Virtual Card Making Retreat Part 4

Happy Friday! I’m not sure why but even after a few years of retirement Fridays still seem happier than Mondays, lol.

Today I have three more beautiful cards from the Virtual Retreat. The first is a tri-fold beauty featuring lots of coloring with Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers.

The card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ on each side. Then the panels are covered inside and out with designer paper.

Here’s a view of the card open and you can see the designer paper with the panels. The floral DSP was a black and white paper design and was colored using the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers. Two labels were die cut and sandwiched together. The twine which holds the card closed with a bow is anchored between the small greeting label and the larger labels. Both of the larger labels have been stamped with different flower images.

The envelope is decorated on the flap with another panel of the colored DSP.

This card features a really cool, unique use of the large panel die from the die set. I would never have thought of this! The card base front is scored at 1 1/4″ and just that narrow strip is die cut. This is then folded over onto a piece of Two-Tone cardstock which has been stamped with the large flower image.

Here is a view of the inside of card front. Note the stamping on the floral circle die cut? Also note the cool stamping on the narrow strip of cardstock to create a binding.

This card uses the same DSP as the first card but colors it differently using a combination of Blending Brushes and Stampin’ Blend Markers.

There is a bit of twine looped around the corner of the frame. I did use a needle to place it, but I think it could be done with the help of the Take Your Pick Tool as well.

The square frame was created by cutting the corners of two strips of a rectangular frame at 45 degrees and then gluing them. I would skip this method and dig out my Layering Squares dies before I tried this again.

Here are a couple of views of the inside of the card. WOW, right? These small Flip Flaps were adhered between the card base and the stamped designer paper. The greetings are heat embossed in white.

They have more panels of the colored designer paper inside but this would be an awesome spot to tuck in some photos.

The Virtual Card Making Retreat is still available to purchase. Along with the kit you will get access to the video recordings. Each card has a separate video so it’s easy to pop in and do one card at a time. The retreat took place on Facebook but the videos will be moved to YouTube after the 30 period that Facebook keeps them.
