Easter is still a month off but, if I know myself, I should start addressing my Easter cards now because all the sudden it will be too late to mail them and have them arrive on time, lol.

When I first saw the Easter Basket Bundle, I was most drawn to the basket with the weaving strips. I do still like the basket but I’ve fallen in love with the two cute bunnies!

The center card was the sample for my Creative Cards Class this month. There is lots of inking with Blending Brushes and small parts. The ladies did grumble a bit but I think they were all happy with the end result.

To create the Collar Fold start with an 8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of designer paper (Mixed Up Patterns used here) and score at 2″ on both sides. Add ink with a Blending Brush to all 4 corners (the side that will be seen when tipped down) and the center. Here I used Pretty in Pink on the Pretty in Pink colored paper.

Fold the all 4 corners down to create the collar. I like to make sure that the folds meet in the center.

Before weaving, the basket edges are colored with a Blending Brush using the same ink color as the cardstock. Then the weaving is done and the decorative edge is added.

TIP: If the weaving is too much for you, from the bottom of the basket, snip the die cut strips so that the bottom is open. Then slide the strips up from the bottom and weave that way. When done, adhere the grass strip at the bottom of the basket to cover the snipped basket edge.

The rosy cheeks and inside of the bunny’s ear were colored with a Q-Tip, but a Stampin’ Write Marker would work as well.

The daffodil stems were cut from a scrap of the Mixed Up Patterns DSP. The flowers were cut from Lemon Lolly cardstock and the cup piece was colored with Daffodil Delight and the bottom with Lemon Lolly using a Blending Brush.

The inside of the card was decorated with stamps from the Woolly Friends set. After all that work with Blending Brushes the two-step stamping was a breeze.

Below is another card that I created with this Fun Fold Technique. It was much easier to create!

The gorgeous Easter Joy DSP didn’t work as well as I had hoped. It’s a very thick paper and tends to crack when folded.
