Let’s Get Scrappy

Do you save all of the little scraps of designer paper? Well if so, pull them out and craft with me today.

This card uses strips in random widths layered across a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White card stock. Leave room in the center for a greeting. If the strips are wide, cut them lengthwise and then place them so that the patterns match up. Flip some of the pieces so that the ‘backside’ of the paper is up.

This card has 1/2″ strips which are woven in the corner leaving the center open for a greeting or stamped elements. The die cut leaves are also from a scrap of the Walk in the Woods Designer Series Paper.

This card does require using a die, Stylish Shapes Dies set used here. Seven 1/4″ strips are adheres to the right side of the card. Next, the square die is lined up, tips to the edge of the last strip. Then, the die cut is flipped and reinserted so that the strips of paper are on the opposite side. The turtle ‘chef’ was fussy cut from the designer paper.
