My Halloween decoration boxes are stacked on my table where I hold classes. It’s like drawing a line in the sand. I have to get them all up and organized before my Open Crafting at the Roost Event on Saturday, celebrating World Card Making Day.

Do you find that sometimes a deadline helps you get things done?

I spent this past weekend prepping my card kits for the Virtual Card Retreat that takes place this Thursday and Friday. WOW, was that a marathon! If you haven’t purchased the Virtual Retreat Kit yet, no worries. The videos will be available to watch at your leisure. I think it’s actually easier to make the cards watching the recorded videos than doing them live. I find that I need to stop and sometimes even rewind and watch a part again to get it right. But, I do like the excitement of being part of the live event.

Today I have a couple of my last Halloween cards for this year (I really need to start on my Christmas cards!!!).

This card features a fun background technique. Start with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Designer Paper, cut it diagonally both ways, then flip the middle pieces to the back side.

I’ve added a Silver Foil Web of Fun Die cut with a greeting from the Oh My Fright stamp set. The creepy spider is also a die cut from the Web of Fun Die set. I added one little bat and two dots from the Bats, Ghosts, and Dots Embellishment set.

This card is super easy to make! The layout is called a Faux Step Card. Faux as in way easier than a real Step Card, lol. I’ve let the Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper do all the hard work on this card.

Faux Step Card

• Base 5 1/2″ x 8″ scored at 1″, 2″ & 5″
• Tall Base Portion 3″ x 6″
• Designer Paper 2 3/4″ x 4″
• Designer Paper 5 1/4″ x 2 3/4″

The only stamping on the front of this card was some little stars on the bottom step and the greeting done on Very Vanilla and fussy cut.
