Silent Christmas #DOswts370

It’s time for another STARS Blog Hop! I messed up my days for the last one and missed it, so it’s been a month! Seems like yesterday, lol. Here is the fun sketch that we had to work with:

We decided to do a quick camping/4 wheeling trip. The decision was made on Wednesday night and we left Thursday afternoon after my Creative Cards Class. I was very discombobulated when packing up my stamping supplies so missed a few items. I thought I was doing pretty good, BUT, when I went to transfer my photos to my computer, I found that I didn’t have my adapter, argh… Good thing that my phone takes okay pictures, the only problem is the photographer shakes really bad so these photos might be a little blurry. They are not the first ones that I took, or the second, or the third…

I just love the Santa and sleigh die cut in the Giving Gifts Dies! When I cut the sleigh die, I layered it inside of one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies to create the tag. It’s so cool that these two die sets work so well together. Some of the Stitched Rectangle Dies will also work with the Giving Gifts Dies.

Paper Dimensions:

Basic White Thick Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Scored at 4 1/4″

Basic White: 4″ x 5 1/4″ Embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder

Basic Black scrap about 2″ x 6″ for the die cuts

Basic Black 2 1/8″ x 1 3/8″

Basic White 2″ x 1 1/4″

Early Espresso tiny scrap for tag reinforcer

I thought that I had grabbed the stamp set that matches the dies, Time of Giving, BUT darn I ended up with the Merriest Moments stamp set, which has an AWESOME die/embossing folder combo Bundle. BUT, it worked out great because I really like the greeting that I chose from the Merriest Moments stamp set for this card. Sometimes mistakes are just a turn in the road. The snowflakes are also from the Giving Gifts Die set. I decided to cut them from Basic Black to keep the simple black and white color theme. The only time I strayed from the color theme was to add an Early Espresso Reinforcer Circle to the hole in the tag.

I hope that you have enjoyed this card.

  1. Adding the embossed trees is such a nice touch for Santa to ‘fly’ over!! Using black which crates more of a silhouette look of Santa and his reindeer is very cool. This is a great Christmas card. Thanks for sharing.
    PS- photo looks good!
