Hello, today’s card focuses on gratitude, but first I want to share with you some of the gratitude that I feel for having been able to attend a Scrapbooking Event yesterday. It was put on by the ladies at Faith Lutheran Church in Waconia, Minnesota. The event ran from 9 am to 9 pm and my goal was to get 9 scrapbook pages done. I came so close! All I have to do is glue down the pieces on the last page. I had so much fun talking with two of my best friends, Sandy and Paula, and meeting some other very creative women. The food was AWESOME! If I ran low on inspiration all I had to do was head to the food bar and my inspiration was restored. I’ll be sharing my pages later today on a Facebook Live as well as some cool Sampler Squares that I received in a swap. So on to the main story…
This is the last of the cards that I created last week when I was playing with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies. I love the way that the Blackberry Beauty Designer Paper looks when embossed and die cut with this folder/die combo. Doesn’t it look like a pile of leaves just waiting to be jumped into? When talking to another lady at the Scrapbooking Event yesterday, she was making Christmas cards using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder and she said that she cut and embossed using the detailed die and embossing folder just fine. I cut first and then embossed because I was afraid that the die was going to get warped BUT, maybe I just didn’t have the die lined up where it belonged when I first tried it. I’ll have to try it again, carefully, and let you know.
Those left over scrap strips make great accents inside the card! This one was left without a greeting so that it can be used for Thanksgiving or just to send to a special someone with a little note about why they are special to me.
I chose to use Rich Razzleberry ink and paper on this card, but Cinnamon Cider or Blackberry Bliss would look awesome too!
