It’s all Okay!

The inspiration for today’s card started with a challenge that I’m working on this month for the DOstamperSTARS demo group. I needed to make a card which combined something unexpected. I think that I often combine things that are unexpected, just because that’s the quirky way that my brain works, lol, but to do it on purpose was a bit harder. I finally pulled out the In the Moment stamp set and the Pretty Birds stamp set thinking to perch a parakeet on one of the girls.

To ink up the parakeet stamp and get only one of the birds, I used tape to cover up the unwanted parts, then inked the stamp, removed the tape and stamped the bird on the cardstock. Next, I stamped the bird onto a sticky note, cut it out and placed it over the stamped bird image for a mask. Then, I stamped the girl image over the bird. It was a bit hit or miss on lining them up because the girl stamp is red rubber, but the sticker on the top of the stamp lined up perfectly so it only took one try.

Here are the colors of Stampin’ Blend Markers that I used

When I was choosing the greeting for the card, I thought about a friend who has been struggling with anxiety. She is always so worried about everyone around her and works so hard that she feels guilty when she takes time for herself. I thought that this greeting was perfect! I stamped the greeting four times on four different colored scraps of cardstock and then cut out each line. The white layer is popped up with dimensionals and layered onto 2 matting layers, one Starry Sky and one Polished Pink.

Our Sweetheart had to see what I was up to when I was photographing this card. I have my photo booth sitting on the spare bed. Puppies are so much like kids, so much fun and so irritating all at the same time. Her recent naughtiness includes chewing up game controller and computer charger cords. But watching her play rocket dog as she zooms around the yard in total enjoyment is so much fun. She also recently learned that the lake is fun to swim and splash in too!
