It’s A Wild Birthday!

Happy first day of spring! Does it feel like spring yet where you are? I always look forward to more hours of sunlight. Today’s card was created for a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge that I’m working on for the DOstamperSTARS group. This card is for the Punch Art square, and I’ve chosen the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.

First the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch was used to create 6 rectangles from the Like An Animal Designer Series Paper. These were layered onto a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. This size left me enough room for a 3/4″ x 4″ greeting. I hate to even admit it, but this is the first time that I’ve actually used this gorgeous paper. I’m not sure if it’s called FEAR OF CUTTING the pretty paper or what, but I did manage to punch a corner off of some of the sheets.

By the way, have you seen this new On-line exclusive, Rhino Ready stamp set with matching dies? These guys are so CUTE! I’ve stamped 2 clumps of grass, colored them with an Old Olive Stampin’ Blend Marker and die cut to place behind the main image. Then the sitting rhino is colored with Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. The card base is Early Espresso.

I had so much fun with the first rhino that I just had to stamp the other two rhinos from the set onto the inside of the card. The rhino on the left has the little bird on his back and I liked it so much that I stamped a whole flock of birds with the little extra bird stamp. I didn’t have room to stamp the little noise maker between the rhinos so I added it by the birthday greeting instead.

I sure hope that you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it! What a better way to celebrate the first day of spring than with a flock of blue birds and a herd of rhinos, hehehe.
