The Free Skate stamp set reminds me of all the hours that I spent on the ice as a child. Skating was a major pastime for the kids in the neighborhood where I grew up. Everything uses white cardstock except for the gold foil blades. The colored laces and berries are created with Stampin’ Blends. The greeting and the top skate are popped up with dimensionals. I love the Scripty Embossing folder. I like to use my imagination as to what the words could be from behind the skates. Is it a page from a great novel? How about a love letter? Maybe a Christmas letter, recapping a families’ yearly milestones? I haven’t actually read what the words say on the embossed image, it’s way more fun to imagine.
Did you notice the scalloped oval beneath the greeting oval? One of the benefits of the Layering Ovals dies is that it contains both smooth and scalloped edged dies which works great to add layers.
To add a little glimmer to the card, I’ve added the Shimmery Crystal Effects to the berries and leaves. I think it adds just the right amount of color and sparkle to balance the white on the card.
