Designer Series Paper In and Out

The Peaceful Poppy Designer Series Paper is so pretty that I decided to make it the focus of this card. The Peaceful Poppy Designer Series Paper is cut 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and adhered onto a Thick Whisper White cardbase. I added a 2″ wide strip of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, placed at an angle and punched holes in the fold of the card to loop a piece of twine and knot it. When punching the holes, I just punched a half circle right on the fold.

The labels are cut from the Painted Labels Dies, one in Calypso Coral and one in Grapefruit Grove. The leaf is cut from a die from the Poppy Moments Die set. I think that the Mossy Meadow cardstock color may have been a bit too dark. Maybe I would switch to Old Olive or even Granny Apple if I made another card.

I tried to create a shadow on the words in the greeting by stamping with Grapefruit Grove and then stamping again with Tuxedo Black. It did give a shadow effect but I don’t think I would do that again, it makes it look blurry.

To finish the card front, I added 5 of the sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequin Pack. Then to carry the look from the card front to the inside, I adhered a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8″ piece of the Peaceful Poppy Designer Series Paper to the inside as well. The greeting is stamped with Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Calypso Coral cut from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
