Mother’s Day Blessing Greeting Card

Welcome to my entry to The Card Concept #134 Challenge. Here is the inspiration that we were working with for this Mother’s Day card challenge.

I sometimes feel a bit nostalgic when making Mother’s Day cards because both my mother and mother-in-law are no longer living. I do however have a daughter and 2 daughter-in-laws who are wonderful moms and I’ve made Mother’s Day cards for them this year.

This card is done in the Classy and Elegant Style. I’ve used the colors from the photo for my inspiration for this card. I loved the soft feel with all of the pinks and golds. I’ve added lots of gold foil layers to give the card an elegant look. and I love the die cuts from the Detailed Bands Dies. I’ve used 3 different dies for this card. The flowers are colored with Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers. I’ve outlined the entire image with a Light Smoky Slate marker to make the image stand out. To make the black oval die cut layer bigger, so that it would show behind the You’re a blessing greeting, I cut the black oval in half lengthwise and then adhered it behind the white layer. Just spread it out a bit so that the black shows on both sides. It was really hard to put adhesive on the pretty birds from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (the back side of the pink paper with white dots). Why do my favorite paper designs have to be front and back on the same piece of paper?

I hope that you have a wonderful Mother’s Day.
