So Many Shells

For today’s card, I thought about using the challenge graphic and switching it up to a northwoods lake theme because I live pretty much in the middle of the country as far from an ocean as you can get, but I did find the retired So Many Shells stamp set with some pretty shell images, so I decided to play with the shells.

I can almost feel the sand between my toes when I look at this great image! I love sitting on our dock at our lake place but it consists of a rocky shore instead of soft sand.

I decided to create a clean and simple card with one main image and lots of white space. You ca easily recreate this simple card. I’ve used 2 inks colors, Smoky Slate and Petal Pink, just the So Many Shells stamp set and thick whisper white cardstock. Everything is stamped directly onto the card base, there are no layers or embellishments.

I did use the scoring blade on my new Stampin’ Up! trimmer to score lines 1/2″ in from the edge of the card front to create a “frame” around the image. I haven’t pulled this technique out of my bag of tricks in a long time. It’s a great way to add dimension to a simple card.

Be sure to check out all of the other entries to TCC138d. They are sure to give lots of great inspiration.

Yay! This Clean and Simple card won an Honorable Mention in the card Concept Challenge!
