Hello and welcome to Robyn’s Roost! World Card Making Day is a great excuse to stamp the day away, as if we stampers need an excuse! Whether you are stamping with a group of friends, participating in a virtual event or having a quiet day at home in your craft room I hope you are enjoying yourself. Today I’m sharing a trio of cards that I created using the Trimming the Town Suite for a virtual event that I’m participating in.
For the first card, the images are all stamped on one layer. The large house and the square one are combined using a Post It Note mask. The trees are colored using a Blender Pen to pull the colore from the stamped lines of the image. I’ve used Stampin’ Blends to color the images. Because I was using the Stampin’ Blends to color the images, I decided to stamp on a separate panel and then adhere it to the card base. The Stampin’ Blends bleed through the back of the cardstock and by using the separate layer, the inside front cover is a clean white. The curvy greeting is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, which is a set that I would recommend for a nice variety of Christmas greetings.
I’ve added a few more elements to this second card. Rather than masking, I’ve stamped the square house onto a separate piece of paper and cut it out with the matching die and popped it up with dimensionals. The car is also cut out with the die and popped up. I’ve also added a layer of designer paper behind the scene. For this card the designer paper layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the white image layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″.
For the third version of the card, I’ve pulled out all the stops. The designer paper is replaced with an old olive cardstock piece. A 3 3/4″ x 3″ piece of tree designed Trimming the Town designer series paper was added to the top half. Both house pieces are cut with dies as well as the car and all 3 of the trees. The white ‘snow’ on the bottom half of the scene is cut with the curvy dies to create snow banks. One of the trees and the car are popped up with dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I’ve cut out 2 people from the Trimming the Town designer series paper and then added them to the scene. One inside the car and the other on the path to the house.

It’s been well over a year since I created a video, so it was almost like doing it for the first time again. I’d love to see the unique cards that you make with the Trimming the Town Suite. Here is a list of the products that I used in these cards. Please check out the Designer Series Paper Sale when placing an order. The Trimming the Town paper is on sale during October YAY!
