Swirling Leaves

All I have to do is look out the window today for inspiration. The wind is blowing and the leaves are falling and swirling all around. Of course, I was also inspired by the Card Concept Challenge photo below:

I tried to use some leaves with bright graphic patterned paper but my heart kept wanting to stick with traditional fall colors. Besides, I had the gorgeous Brushed Metallic paper and the Gilded Autumn Patterned paper laying right there on my table to tempt me.

I had also been working on some Christmas cards and had some left over die cuts from the North Pole Wonder Dies and tucked them under the ribbon to finish off the card. The leaves are punched out of both the Gilded Autumn and the Brushed Metallic papers. I scattered some Champagne Rhinestones amongst the leaves for a bit more glimmer and added one where the two leaf branches meet under the ribbon. I covered the entire card base front with a piece of the Plaid Tidings designer paper. It was cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The Very Vanilla piece on the front is 3 1/2″ square.

My card today falls in the Clean and Layered style. Which is defined by:

  • clean lines
  • lots of layers
  • designer papers/embossing
  • embellishments/accents
  • clean and fresh looking
  • some coloured images at times
  • white space

If you get a chance, be sure to go to https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com/ to view more creative designs from the challenge.
