Swap Card Friday on Saturday

Somehow, I lost a day, lol! I just realized that I didn’t post my Swap cards yesterday and today is Saturday. It’s hard to keep track of what day it is when you don’t have anywhere to be.

Ride the Range Swap Card by Jill Hamlett

On this awesome card, Jill created a peaceful ranch scene. I love the detail and the way that she raised up portions with dimensionals. Notice the lasso in the cowboy’s hand?

Even the clouds look realistic with the shadows from being raised up. Jill told us that her grandchildren lived on a ranch so this set was a must have for her.

Wrapped Bouquet by Dawn Olchefske

Dawn’s Wrapped Bouquet card is loaded with small details. The more I look, the more I see. There is a basic gray layer behind the Well Suited Designer Series Paper and I like the way that she ran the strip of gray granite card stock past the DSP layer. The little butterfly gems are from the annual catalog and are an item that I totally overlooked.

The flowers are sponged with a hint of highland heather ink, just enough to give them some color and stand out from the newsprint. The black tag is embossed in white and tied on with white baker’s twine. The square vellum doily is cut in half and tucked under the gray strip. A truly beautiful card.
