Shark Frenzy Hidden Slider

Shark Frenzy Hidden Slider

This hidden slider card lets the baby shark bounce along the waves with a simple pull on the slider tab.

The sliding mechanism is hidden behind the Pacific Point waves on the front and the baby shark is tucked behind them. He slides along on his little ‘puppet’ stick attached to the slider pull.

Side View of Slider

There are two layers of foam strips holding the slider so that it has room to move. To see the card demonstrated watch the Shark Frenzy Hidden Slider Video Tutorial.

Here are the paper dimensions and tips for assembly starting with the bottom layer:

Pool Party base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ stamped with Pacific Point Bubbles on the bottom

Basic White: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ Stamped with greeting in Pacific Point in the top left corner and embossed with Seashells 3D Embossing Folder

Pool Party Wave: 1 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ Die cut top edge with wave from Shark Dies and emboss with Old World Embossing Folder

Pacific Point Slider: 1 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ Punch the slider hole out with the Classic Label Punch. Punch twice to create slider along the whole length. Use a scissors to smooth out the area between the two punches. Leave about 1/2″ unpunched at each end. Save the complete label punch out for the baby shark puppet stick. The Slider piece will get adhered with two long strips of foam adhesive. For placement of the foam adhesive, lay the slider pull over the punched slot and place the foam strips so that the slider pull will be able to move freely but snuggly.

Pacific Point Slider Pull: 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ Stamp the words in Pacific Point towards the right side leaving about 1/2″ of the end blank for the pull handle.

Pacific Point Wave: 2″ x 4 3/4″ Die cut the top edge with the wave die from the Shark Dies and emboss with the Old World Embossing Folder. Save one of the cut off wave scallops for the pull handle for the slider. The wave will be attached with 2 short foam strips on the vertical ends of the wave. This will leave the slider free to move along the track.

Basic White Scraps: Enough to stamp the momma and baby shark. Die cut them with the matching Shark Dies.

St Augustine Lighthouse

I just had to sneak in this photo that I took at the St. Augustine Lighthouse. It was a fun climb to the top! It was a beautiful cool day but very windy. My fearless husband ducked right back into the lighthouse while I walked around the rail snapping pictures.
