Butterfly Brilliance

Unlike yesterday’s Butterfly Brilliance card, today’s card is full of color. I’ve paired the butterflies with the fun Playful Patterns Designer Series Paper.

The Butterfly Brilliance stamp set is one large stamp with several butterflies and then the die cuts all the butterflies at once, quick and easy to align. I do suggest coloring the butterflies before die cutting so that they are easier to work with.

This card is a done in a Clean and Layered style.

  • clean lines
  • lots of layers
  • designer papers/embossing
  • embellishments/accents
  • clean and fresh looking
  • some coloured images at times
  • white space

The butterflies were colored with Stampin’ Blends in various blues and greens and then Shimmery Crystal Effects were applied over the top. Tip: Have patience and leave them set until they are completely dry.

I cut three holes with the Layering Circles Dies, I just used three different sizes of dies, along the edge of the card front and then cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Playful Patterns DSP and adhered to the inside of the front so that the DSP peeked through the holes. The butterflies are then placed over the holes and popped up with dimensionals.

Here you can see the inside of the card. I also added a strip along the right side as well. It was a scrap that was cut off from the other piece.

The dotted Playful Patterns DSP piece is 2″ x 5″ and the Night of Navy layer is 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. I’ve used one of the circle cut outs as the matte for the greeting, stamped the greeting on Basic White, cut it out with the Layering Circles Dies and popped it up with dimensionals. The greeting is from the Framed For You stamp set. I added a piece of the Fine Art Ribbon behind the greeting.
