Butterfly Brilliance in Black and White

I made it back to Minnesota Wednesday evening and I’ve been playing catch up ever since. I did have some fun things to take care of too, like opening my Stampin’ Up! order which included the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. That worked out well because the Stars Challenge today is creating with Butterflies!

I decided to go an unconventional direction for this card today. I was experimenting with the delicate butterfly dies and grabbed a piece of white card stock to experiment with. I didn’t intend to actually use the white butterfly but after laying it on a piece of black card stock, I decided to try making a card in black and white.

At first I thought about using white embossing powder for the greeting but then I remembered the words from the Floral Gallery Dies and decided to use them. I really liked it.

For the inside of this card, I continued the theme, stamping the greeting and flowers, both from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, in Tuxedo Black ink.

P.S. I got these pretty Faceted Gems (item 1524654) from Dawn Olchefske and decided to add a sprinkling on the card.
