Butterfly Beauty

Butterfly Beauty

Today’s card highlights the Butterfly Beauty Dies and the only stamping is the simple ‘for you’ greeting from the Beauty Abounds stamp set. I was rushing to run the Balmy Blue card stock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and didn’t get the centers completely cut out of the butterflies. I decided to leave them in and use the piece whole. It was a bit tricky to keep all of the pieces together and get them adhered to the 3 3/4″ x 5″ Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, but I did like the results. If you try this technique, just be sure to get adhesive on all of the little cut out pieces. I used Liquid Glue for this. The second die cut of Gorgeous Grape cut out perfectly and was layered over the top.

The card base is Mint Macaron as well as the little greeting label. I stamped the greeting with Gorgeous Grape ink and then cut it with scissors to follow the shape of the greeting. The matting layer is Pretty Peacock and is 4″ x 5 1/4″.

I was experimenting with the various dies included in the Butterfly Beauty Die set and had cut out a pretty floral flourish in both the Balmy Blue and the Gorgeous and I decided to use them on the inside of the card. I once again left the inside blank so that I could use this card for just about any occasion.

I really like to experiment with stamp sets and see how I can use all of the different elements in a stamp or die set. Sometimes, I just don’t have time to try out all of the ideas that I get and other times, I sit and star at a stamp set and just can’t come up with any ideas! Those are the times when I look for inspiration to other demonstrators and stamper friends. Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are a wonderful resource for sparking creative ideas.

Creative Tip: If you hit a creative block, start by copying a card that you like on my blog, or on Pinterest, and then look at the card and add a little something to make it your own creation.
