Pansy Matchbox Treat Holder

The Pansy Petals Suite is one of the new items in the 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and hold on to your ink pads ladies, this is an awesome set for flower lovers!

Pansy Matchbox

I’ve just started to dabble with the items in the Pansy Petals Suite, and I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with! The designer paper has 10 coordinating colors for a full range of options.

Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Calypso Coral, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Soft Succulent and Whisper White

The designs range from tiny flowers to full sized pansies that can be cut with the matching dies. On the opposite side are stripes, dots or gingham patterns.

Pansy Close-up

Some of the dies emboss as well as cut as you can see in this close up of the pansy. I’ve added minimal stamping to this flower. Both layers of the upper petals are done with Petal Pink card stock and are stamped with Petal Pink ink as well. The bottom petals are done in two card stock colors, Highland Heather for the base and Gorgeous Grape for the outline. The center is done with Cinnamon Cider ink on Cinnamon Cider paper, with a Bumblebee dot.

I did get a little intimidated by the Pansy Die set! There are 21 little dies to cut various flower and leaf parts. To be honest, I haven’t figured out how best to use all of them yet, but I’ll share as I learn more. Even the leaves have several dies, some which cut out the stamped image (like the ones above) and some that have embossing. This is a set that you can use over and over and always make something new.

The Photopolymer Pansy Patch stamp set comes with 23 stamps. There are six greetings with a fun mix of script and block font. The greeting that I’ve used for this box is perfect for the occasion that I’ve made it for. These boxes are going to be included in a swag bag with a new catalog for my customers who RSVP and attend my New Catalog Open House.

If you are a visual learner, watch the Pansy Matchbox Video to see this box being created.

The loop of ribbon on the edge of the box was something that I added after watching my grandchildren struggle to open their boxes at Easter. I just stapled a piece of the Purple Posy Linen ribbon to the side of the box to make it easier to open. The ribbon that I used for the double bow is a retired ribbon. If you watch the video you will see that it was the last little bit on the roll.
