Color & Contour Simple Stamping

I admit that I love learning new techniques for card making, but I realize that if you are just starting to stamp or prefer clean and simple cards, you like to see some examples of simple cards too. So today, I’ve created a simple card to share. It only uses one stamp set, two ink colors and three colors of paper.

The Color & Contour stamp set has two step style stamps. The first stamp is for the outline of the image and the second stamp fills in the color. This stamp isn’t meant to fill in the lines precisely so it’s perfect for beginning stampers! No need to worry about getting the stamp exactly in the correct alignment.

The images are stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock which is 2 3/4″ x 4″ and layered onto a piece of Basic Black which is 3″ x 4 1/4″. Rather than aligning it straight on the card front, I tipped it a bit. I’m not very good at straight, so this another little tip that beginners can use if you have trouble getting things even.

The card base is the Thick Very Vanilla. Score the entire sheet at 4 1/4″ and then cut it at 5 1/2″ and you will have two card bases ready to use. Another tip for beginners, to cut down on scoring and cutting time.

I’ve added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pale Papaya card stock to the card front. It echos the flower color for a coordinated look.

Whether you are a beginning stamper or an old pro, I hope that you found something in this card to inspire you to create one of your own! Hope you have a wonderful day!
